During a class at Creative Journey Studios, the inimitable Ellen Propheter taught the mokume gane technique - amazing and ever-changing! I love the contrasting earth, water sky…and even used a coordinating mokume gane for the interior. However, my original plan for this purse disappeared quickly, when I started sculpting the trees. More trees kept appearing - as texturing and shaping the trunk and boughs was just fascinating.
The technique for making my purses was refined during a class with Kathleen Dustin at Creative Journey Studios. What I learned from this remarkable artist continues to impact my purses. This purse measure approximately 7” across, 4.75” high and 3.25” deep; but because of the strap system used, this purse will not accommodate large purse styles.
