Pearl Black Carved - SOLD

$200.00
sold out

The technique used on this purse, evolved over a number of carved purses, as I tried to mimic a crayon coloring technique used when I was a child. Covering a clay Skinner blend of pearl to gold (thank you Judith Skinner!) with black clay was the starting point. The carving and texturing of the black surface, revealing the colors of the blend, makes this an elegant bag.

The technique for making my purses was refined during a class with Kathleen Dustin at Creative Journey Studios. What I learned from this remarkable artist continues to impact my purses. This purse uses a metal frame so that it accommodates larger phones and measures approximately 8” long, 2” deep, 4.75 “ high.

While this purse is sold, commissions are accepted. Please contact me for details.
