Crayon Carved Bird - SOLD

$200.00
sold out

The technique used on this purse, evolved over a number of carved purses, as I tried to mimic a crayon coloring technique used when I was a child. Covering a clay Skinner blend of reds to yellow (thank you Judith Skinner!) with black clay was the starting point. The carving and texturing of the black surface revealed the colors of the blend. This is a happy purse, which feels wonderful to the touch!

The technique for making my purses was refined during a class with Kathleen Dustin at Creative Journey Studios. What I learned from this remarkable artist continues to impact my purses. This purse uses a metal frame so that it accommodates larger phones and measures approximately 8” long, 2” deep, 4.75 “ high.

While this purse is sold, commissions are accepted. Please contact me for details.
